Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be wagered on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your computer, using a web connection. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will be "handed out" on the video screen.

A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine every instance.

As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Further, some styles of the game give the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
